Employment Services
Employment Services provides a variety of employment training, placement and retention services targeting limited English-speaking immigrants and refugees. As SEARCH’s largest program, Employment Services is staffed by a diverse multi-lingual staff that works very closely with clients to place them in jobs that pay a living wage. In addition to placement and retention services, SEARCH also provides Computer Literacy and Childcare Provider Trainings throughout the year. The program is funded by a combination of performance-based government contracts (e.g. City of Minneapolis and the MN Department of Human Services), the United Way and a number of local foundations. Each year, SEARCH places 250-300+ limited English-speaking immigrants into jobs with higher than normal 90 day retention rates.
Refugee Social Services
Refugee Social Services provides comprehensive case management services to refugees who have been in the U.S. for five or fewer years. The objective of the program is to help refugees resolve their basic human needs by providing case management and navigation services (e.g. interpretation and translation) that connect refugees to a myriad of support services.
Immigrant Youth Intervention Services
SEARCH assists at-risk school and juvenile court referred immigrant youth ages 12-17 turn their lives around via relationship and culturally-based case management, employment/career development and parent support services. The program saves tax payers thousands of dollars annually by preventing costly out-of-home placements and a deeper involvement with the correctional system.
Health Services
SEARCH assists new immigrants navigate the healthcare delivery system and provides public health/tobacco cessation information and QUIT PLAN counseling services.
